this world is too wide and this universe is too big and you are just too beautiful…

there is just way too much inside of you for you to let this be the end

this world is
too wide
and this universe
is too big
and you are just
too beautiful
and there is just
way too much inside of you
for you to let this
be the end

heartbreak has this way of making your world seem so. small… this isn’t the end…

this world is too wide, and this universe is too big

heartbreak has this way
of making your world seem so small,
just taking everything that
has meaning and collapsing it into
one single story, with only one other person,
and just one version of yourself, in just
one version of life, with what feels
like no way out, and as if there is
nothing more to know

but this world is too wide, and this
universe is too big, and you are just. too. beautiful,
and there is just way too much inside of you…
for you to let this be the end

this isn’t the end…

your standards for love: keep them high…

keep them high.

your standards for love are going to make some
people uncomfortable. and they will try to make
you feel like those standards are too high.

i think it’s because those standards threaten
their comfort zones.

what you believe in either challenges how they treat
people… or how they’ve accepted being treated.

but none of that is about you.
this is your own life. and it will be your own love
and your own heart. so don’t ever let anyone make
you question your own standards…
keep them high.

you said, tell me where you’ve been, love (the way to here)…

you said, tell me where you've been, love

you said,
tell me where you’ve been, love

and i thought of all the lost roads,
and dark corners,
and heavy work, and heartbreak,
and of all the healing

and i just said…
on my way here

another life…

i can no longer wear that shade of unworthiness, or hold that self-unkindness

and if you
took me for granted…
you must know that that
was another life.
and i have found my way
to a new life.
and you are just not welcome here.

because i can no longer
wear that shade of unworthiness,
or hold that self-unkindness,
that let me live a life
where the people i let close to me
ever treated me as anything less than
a blessing in theirs.
