my friends & i have always felt sad about how, as girls…

my friends & i have always felt sad about how, as girls,
it’s not safe for us to take late-night walks…
when all we wanna do is go look at the moon.

but a few nights ago, a woman left the earth, on her way to be
the first woman to go to the moon, in a rocket named after a goddess…
and the moon was pink that night…

and it felt like being told to keep reaching for a better world…
one where we’re so free to take walks under the moon
that we feel like we could touch it.

current mood…
leaning into the feminine energy in my life,
within myself, in my soul, in my connections
with women & girls… my friendships.
and in nature… the way it’s in the flowers,
but also in the moon,
just anywhere i can feel it…
it’s where things are beautiful and soft,
but it’s where i’m protected, too.
